KARACHI (92 News) – President Dr Arif Alvi lamented the tragic incident of Sahiwal and termed it very painful.

Dr Alvi took a tweeter and said, “I cannot even imagine, the negative effects that have been inflicted on the minds of those children whose parents were martyred in front of their eyes.”

The president also said that the state would definitely take care of these children, “however, there is no substitute to parents.”

Dr Arif Alvi assured that the cruel murderers behind this tragedy will get the punishment.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that as soon as the JIT report comes, swift action will be taken against those responsible for the Sahiwal incident.

In a tweet today, the prime minister said about Sahiwal incident, saying that though the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has done a great job in fight against terrorism, everyone must be accountable before the law. He said protection of all citizens is priority of the government.

Imran Khan said he is still shocked at seeing the traumatized children who saw their parents shot before their eyes. He said these children will now be fully looked after by the state as its responsibility.

“Still shocked at seeing the traumatized children who saw their parents shot before their eyes. Any parent would be shocked as they would think of their own children in such a traumatic situation. These children will now be fully looked after by the state as its responsibility, the premier tweeted.

An FIR against 16 unknown Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officials has been lodged under terrorism and murder sections at the Yousafwala police station today.

A day earlier, four people, including two women, were killed by the CTD officials near toll plaza on Saturday. A child was also injured in the cross-fire, while two remained unhurt. The injured has been shifted to hospital.

Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed grief and sorrow over the Sahiwal incident, ordering a fair and independent probe into the matter.

He also sought a report from Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and IGP Punjab Amjad Javed Saleemi. A joint investigation team (JIT) led by Additional IG Syed Ijaz Shah has been formed to probe into the matter.
