‘Salman Shahbaz has a major role in appointment of bureaucrats’
LAHORE (92 News) – Zubair Mahmood, the personal secretary of Punjab chief minister’s wife Tehmina Durrani, has alleged in his book that the chief minister’s son Salman Shahbaz has a major role in appointment of bureaucrats to important posts.
Talha Barki, he says, controls several departments of Punjab government.
The author says Salman Shahbaz and Talha Barki decide the appointment of senior police officers in the provincial capital.
The book claims that medical superintendents at major hospitals are picked on political basis. It says the health minister has no authority and all decisions are taken by Hamza Shahbaz’s personal secretary Ata Tarar. The book says voters were bribed from Benazir Income Support Programme funds.
Zubair Mehmood says Shahbaz Sharif and Chaudhry Nisar had been meeting at Durrani’s home to discuss the opportunity they saw in Nawaz Sharif’s ouster in the Panama Leaks aftermath.
