KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday rejected a plea to stop the execution of Saulat Mirza who was awarded death in the murder case of KESC MD Shahid Hamid.

Saulat Mirza will now be hanged on May 12.

Saulat Mirza’s wife Najma Mirza had filed a petition, stating it was injustice to hang only one person.

She pleaded that other accused should also be punished after reopening the case. She said that Scotland Yard’s assistance should be sought in the case.

She contended that Saulat Mirza’s video statement be given the legal status and a statement should be recorded under section 164.

However, the SHC upheld the Supreme Court verdict.

Meanwhile, Saulat Mirza’s wife has written another letter, stating that why the JIT was formed if he was to be hanged.

She also sought an opportunity to stop the execution.
