SC again issues contempt of court notice to Nehal Hashmi
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday again issued contempt of court notice to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nehal Hashmi.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the review petition of the contempt of court.
During the proceedings, calling Nehal Hashmi, Justice Saqib Nisar remarked that the court will play a video, you will listen to what you have said to which the PML-N leader said that he was ‘acting’ and that he would never utter disgraceful remarks against the judiciary again.
Justice Ijazul Hassan remarked that this has become a trend.
The CJP asked Hasmi why shouldn’t the court give cancel your license as lawyer and member of the bar council to which he said that his children would die of hunger.
I cannot even pay my utility bills if I didn’t practice, he added.
The court while again issuing contempt of court notice to the former senator ordered him to submit reply till March 12.
