SC orders to seize Khokhar Palace, present report on case within 10 days
LAHORE (92 News) – The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Sunday ordered the director general of Anti-Corruption Department to seize the Khokhar Palace and present a report on the case within 10 days.
A bench of the SC Lahore registry headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar heard a suo motu case against illegal occupation of the properties by Pakistan Muslim League-N lawmaker Afzal Khokhar, MPA Saiful Malook Khokhar and Shafi Khokhar.
During the hearing, the chief justice remarked, “I won’t let this lawlessness prevail in Pakistan, we are breaking the nexus. The Khokhar Palace should be evicted and pick out their luggage and assets. We can make an academic institution at the site,” he said.
On the conversation with Khokhar brothers, during the hearing, the top judge said that he knew very well what the Khokhar brothers would do with him after his retirement. He added that such a people destroyed Pakistan. He directed the anti-corruption department to register cases against the Khokhars.

On the other side, Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Director General (DG) submitted assets detail of Afzal Khokhar and his brother Saiful Malook Khokhar.
The anti-corruption department in its report before the Supreme Court said that the Khokhar brothers grabbed at least 40 kanal government land, adding that the accused made payments to only one person out of 10 others.
The report said that the Khokhar Palace is built on grabbed land. The DG informed the bench that the accused brothers have obtained a bail until CJP’s retirement, assuming that they won’t be held accountable after that.

Subsequently, the CJP ordered to vacate the Khokhar Palace, and said “we can establish an institute for education at the palace.”
