Section144 imposed across Punjab ahead of election
LAHORE (92 News) – The Section144 imposed to ensure election code of conduct implementation across Punjab and fool proof security to key political leaders.
A high level meeting with Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Dr Hassan Askari in chair was held at the Chief Minister’s Office in Lahore today (on Saturday).
In meeting, arrangements regarding forth coming general elections 2018, potential flood and to prevent the spread of polio and dengue fever were reviewed in detail. The meeting decided to provide fool proof security to key political leaders.
Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that some 47,473 polling stations have been set up for elections on 141 national and 297 provincial assemblies’ seats in Punjab.
He said that more than 259,000 policemen and police officials will be deployed for election duty in the Province. Hassan Askari said that section 144 has been imposed to ensure implementation of election code of conduct across Punjab.
