Five martyred in Mohmand Agency suicide bombing attack
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – At least three Khasadar Force personnel and two civilians embraced martyrdom when a suicide bomber blew himself in Mohmand agency on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued by the ISPR, security forces had the intelligence about intrusion of suicide bombers from Afghanistan inside Mohmand agency.
One suicide bomber blew himself up once spotted and challenged by security agencies at the gate of Political Agent’s office, killing three Khasadar Force personnel and two civilians while the bomber other was shot by the forces at the gate.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and search of area is being carried out.
Hundreds of local residents come daily on business to the tribal headquarters, located 45km outside Peshawar, the provincial capital.
Wednesday’s attack, and another suicide bombing that killed 13 in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore on Monday, reflect an increase in attacks by armed groups after almost a three-month lull.
