Selective accountability, idea of sacred cow worst form of corruption: Asif Zardari

DUBAI (92 News) – PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari has said that selective accountability and the idea of a sacred cow are the worst form of corruption.

In a statement on the 87th birthday of PPP founding leader Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on Monday, he said that it is also corruption to use the name of corruption for the sake of political maneuvering.

“Those putting national security at stake through non-state actors should also be held accountability,” he maintained. “We will not let extremists to occupy the power in the name of religion.”

The PPP co-chairman said that the youth should understand the philosophy of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and promise that they would not let any individual or institution to occupy the power forcefully.

He also paid tributes to people offering sacrifices for the restoration of democracy.

“The PPP will continue to protect the constitution. The government should also abide by the laws without any interference,” he added.
