Self-accountability only solution to eradicate corruption: NAB chairman
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal has said that corruption is cancer and vowed to uproot the cancer of corruption from Pakistan.
According to the press release, Javed Iqbal said that that everybody in Pakistan wants an end to corruption. He added that the only solution to eliminate corruption is self-accountability.
“If we avoid nepotism and bribes while following the principle of self-accountability, it will not only bring down corruption but will also help realise the dream of ‘corruption-free’ Pakistan,” he continued.
He also stressed that it is the Bureau’s priority to take the mega corruption cases to their logical conclusion and to transfer low magnitude cases to other anti-corruption departments so that the cases of all nature could be disposed of within 10 months prescribed time frame.
The anti-graft body has also taken anti-money laundering measures, Iqbal said, vowing all the money plundered through corruption will be brought back to the country according to the laws.
Javed Iqbal also informed that the NAB has established a separate cell for solving the issues of Pakistan’s business community.
