Seven more die in Thar, death toll reaches 68
THARPARKAR/MITHI (92 News) – Seven more children died of malnourishment in drought-hit Tharparkar on Tuesday as the death toll reaches to 68.
As per details, hundreds of children are under treatment in different hospitals, whereas the plight of children in southern Sindh province highlights the provincial government’s incompetence to deal with the situation.
The helpless mothers said that the provincial minister have gone after visiting the food shortage, pneumonia, diarrhea and drought-hit areas but they still facing food shortage and basic medical facilities.
Earlier, Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had constituted a two-member committee comprises of Sindh Information Adviser Maula Bakhsh Chandio and food minister Nasir Shah to look into the situation in Thar but nothing has changed in that area rather death toll has been rising on daily basis.
