Seven police personnel abducted by bandit gang recovered
ROJHAN (92 News) – The seven police personnel who were abducted by the bandits have been safely recovered on Monday.
According to police spokesman, the police personnel were recovered during an operation which continued for the whole night, while the bandits managed to flee taking advantage of the darkness.
On the other hand, sources said that the safe recovery of police personnel was possible after police officials agreed to release the gang members.
Local influential persons played an important role in the dialogues.
Bandits had abducted seven policemen from a forested area of southern Punjab. Police had said that the gang wants several of its members who are behind bars to be freed.
The police personnel were returning by boat to the town of Rojhan, in Rajanpur district, from an outpost in a forested area along the Indus River when the gang captured them.
