Severe weather, storms kill at least 22 across Punjab

LAHORE (92 News) – The death toll from the last night’s severe thunderstorms that brought rain, knocked over trees and caused power outages has risen to at least 22 and several others injured.

Severe thunderstorm watches started popping up early in the evening in anticipation of the change in weather patterns.

Many of trees were toppled, and about 22 people were killed and several others needed medical help. It was the deadliest storm in the different parts of Punjab.

 

 

Incidents of roof and wall collapse have been reported across the province which left 22 people dead and several others injured.

In Bahawalpur, thunderstorm claimed the lives of six people and left 30 others injured.


In Arifwala, six persons including three males and three females were killed in roof collapse incidents.

Eight people were killed and around 100 injured in Bahawalnagar due to severe storm, while two minor children were killed when the roof of their house collapsed in Chichawatni due to storm.
