Shahbaz not to attend PAC meeting as backache worsens
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Opposition Leader of the in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday will not attend a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) over backache worsens.
As per details, the opposition leader excuses from chairing a PAC meeting on law and order following the doctors’ recommendation of rest after backache.
On Wednesday, doctors in the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) performed a physiotherapy and a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) when the opposition leader was suffering from severe back and neck pain. The medical reports concluded complications in his spinalcord.
Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) president was elected the PAC chairman unopposed. The parliament’s two standing committees including the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) met at Parliament House. The meeting of PAC held to elect its chairman.
In the first session of the PAC, MNA Shaikh Rohale Asghar suggested the name of Shehbaz Sharif for chairman slot. Mushahid Hussain Syed also supported the proposed name. However, the PML-N president was elected the PAC chairman unopposed.
Shehbaz, who is in the custody of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), was elected as PAC chairman unopposed on December 21. His name for the post of committee chairman was suggested by lawmaker Sheikh Rohail Asghar and confirmed by Mushahid Hussain.
After issuance of his production orders by the speaker of the National Assembly, Sharif was being brought to Islamabad so he could attend assembly’s sessions.
