Shahbaz Sharif inaugurates wheat harvesting season; announces cheap tractor scheme for farmers
LAHORE (92 News) – Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday inaugurated the harvesting season of Wheat at a village in Lahore’s precincts.
Talking to farmers after the inauguration, Shahbaz Sharif announced that the government has set a healthy rate of Rs 1300/40 Kg keeping in view the damage borne by the farmers. “We will make sure that the farmers receive the profit of this transaction and not the dealers,” he said. “This year we have set a target of purchasing 4 million tonnes of wheat.”
The chief minister announced a tractor scheme for small-scale farmers by which the government will provide 200,000 Rs subsidy to 10,000 farmers.
Talking about the Sugarcane crop, Shahbaz Sharif criticized the Sindh government for buying cheap Sugarcane from the farmers and creating problems for them.
