Shakib, Sabbir fifties crush Pakistan in T20

DHAKA – Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 7 wickets in their Twenty20 clash at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Friday, 92 News reported.

After defeating Pakistan 3-0 in the ODI series Bangladesh team continued their winning momentum and never allowed the visitors to dominate them.

Shakib Al Hasan (57) and Sabbir Rahman (51) punished the Pakistani bowlers till the end of their innings with powerful hitting.

Pakistan’s Umar Gul and Wahab Riaz picked one wicket each.

Earlier after winning the toss, Pakistan elected to bat and posted 141 runs in their allotted 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets.

Pakistan’s only significant contributions came from Mukhtar Ahmed (37), Haris Sohail (30) and Mohammad Hafeez (26) while the rest of the batsmen struggled against the Bengal Tigers.

Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman grabbed two wickets while Arafat Sunny and Taskin Ahmed bagged one wicket each.

Sabbir Rahman was declared Man of the Match.

Pakistan and Bangladesh will play their first Test match from April 28 at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium, Khulna.
