Sharjeel Memon vows to end water woes of Karachites

KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon has said that the government will send 800 water tankers to the affected areas of the city for free.

While talking to media on Sunday, Sharjeel Memon said that at least 800 water tankers will be supplied to the city today. “The public does not need to make any payments,” the minister said. “These are not free for residents of posh areas.”

He claimed that around 549 water tankers were sent in the city yesterday and a number of 1,000 water tankers will be sent till Ramazan. “Around 22 pumps are functional and supplying water in different areas of the city,” the minister said.

He revealed that the water deficiency in the metropolis has escalated to 450 million gallons.


Karachi is a sprawling city of more than 20 million people. Water shortage is a serious problem for the inhabitants of the metropolis.
