Shawwal moon not sighted, Eidul Fitr to be celebrated on Saturday

KARACHI (92 News) – Chairman Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman announced that the Shawwal moon was not sighted across the country and Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday.

The announcement was made by Mufti Muneeb during a press conference after chairing a meeting of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee on Thursday.

The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee had convened the meeting to sight the moon for Eidul Fitr in Karachi. Meanwhile, zonal bodies of the committee also met Islamabad, Quetta, Peshawar and Lahore.

No evidence of sighting the moon was received from any area of the country.


Meanwhile, Eidul Fitr will also be celebrated in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka on Saturday.

On the other hand, Eid will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, South Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia and Turkey on Friday.
