Shehbaz Sharif leaves for London via Doha

LAHORE (92 News) – Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif left for London via Doha from Allama Iqbal International Airport on Wednesday.

Besides inquiring after the health of his granddaughter and grandson, he will also undergo medical examination.

He is expected to return to the country in a few days.

Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza indicted in Ramzan Sugar Mills case

Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz were indicted in Ramzan Sugar Mills case.

The father-son duo appeared before an accountability court in Lahore earlier today, where they were indicted in the Ramzan Sugar Mills corruption reference. Accountability Court judge Najam ul Hassan heard the case. During the hearing, the accused denied all the charges.

The court has summoned witnesses and adjourned the hearing.

The NAB  had filed a reference against the two alleging that the former chief minister Shehbaz Sharif misused his authority by using public funds for the construction of a bridge to facilitate the Ramzan mills, owned by his sons.

Shehbaz replies to PM’s letter for ECP members

Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday replied the letter of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Shehbaz Sharif wrote a letter to the prime minister and recommended three names each for the vacant posts of the members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) from Balochistan and Sindh.

In the letter written in response to the premier’s earlier letter suggesting names for the posts, Shehbaz recommended the names of Shah Mohammad Jatoi, Chief Justice (r) Muhammad Noor Meskenzai and Muhammad Rauf Ata for their nomination as a member of the ECP from Balochistan.

Shehbaz has proposed the names of Justice (r) Abdul Rasool Memon, Khalid Javed and Justice (r) Noorul Haq Qureshi for their nomination as a member of the ECP from Sindh.

PM himself writes letter to Shehbaz for appointment of ECP members

Earlier, PM Imran Khan himself wrote a letter to Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif for appointment of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members.

It is pertinent to mention here that the appointment of two ECP members was pending due to recent political strife between the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the opposition parties.

In a four-page letter, the prime minister invited the opposition leader to participate in consultations process for the appointment the ECP members. He also sought suggestions in writing.
