Shuja Khanzada Murder: Security officials to be probed, 25 held in search operation

ATTOCK (92 News) – The Punjab government has on Wednesday decided to include officials, who were on duty for the security of martyred Punjab home minister Col (r) Shuja Khanzada, in the investigation.

Police sources said that the written statements of all the on duty officials are being recorded, while all the officials have been found negligent.

Only one section of Elite Force and cops of one police station were on duty at the time of the incident.

The security officials had prior briefing regarding the threats to the life of martyred Shuja Khanzada but the DPO Attock didn’t even visit checked the security arrangements.

“The security of the martyred Punjab home minister was not according to the SOP’s of security,” sources said.

On the other hand, police and law-enforcement agencies on Wednesday conducted a search operation in the city and apprehended at least 25 suspects, who didn’t have their national identity cards and proof of living.

The law-enforcement agencies have started interrogation of the detained suspects.
