Sindh Apex Committee approves ruthless, large-scale surgical operation in Karachi
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – The Sindh Apex Committee has approved ruthless and large-scale surgical operation in Karachi.
A special meeting of the Sindh Apex Committee was presided over by Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif at Corps Headquarters on Thursday.
DG ISPR said that all institutions should work jointly and criminals should be dealt with indiscriminately.
The committee decided to continue across the board operation with increased tempo.
It decided to apprehend criminals and their facilitators regardless of political, religious, ethnic, sectarian or any other affiliations and banned outfits.
A system would be developed for strict checking at all entry and exit points of Karachi.
An Intelligence sub-committee of the Apex Committee would coordinate and synergize civil-military intelligence effort for optimally effective Intelligence Based Operations.
It was decided to check all financial channels funding to criminals and militants and terrorists.
There would be effective policing and surveillance in vast suburbs of Karachi to prevent sneaking terrorist attacks.
It was decided there would be transparent and merit-based appointment of officials with oversight mechanism to help the system for long-term sustainability.
Intelligence agencies were directed to work together to exploit existing leads to nab terrorists and criminals. It was also decided to hold regular and meaningful weekly meetings of the Apex Committee.
The meeting was attended by Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, DG ISI, DG MI, DG MO, DG Rangers, Corps Commander, Sindh Chief Secretary and IG Sindh.
