Sindh Assembly: Opposition parties protest after Speaker disallows resolution against Altaf’s statement
KARACHI (92 News) – The opposition parties staged a protest in the Sindh Assembly on Monday when the Speaker disallowed them to bring a draft resolution condemning objectionable remarks by Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain against the state institutions.
The opposition members belonging to Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F), Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) also staged a walkout from the house.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon paid rich tributes to the Pakistan armed and para-military forces for their services and sacrifices in line with defending the nation.
He said all the institutions including armed forces and judiciary are respectable.
The information minister said it is positive sign that MQM chief has tendered apology for his comments.
Sharjeel Memon said such practices should be refrained in future.
Later, the Speaker adjourned the session till Tuesday.
