Sindh beats Islamabad by 118 runs
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Sindh emerged victorious Saturday in the fifth match of the Pakistan Cup series held in Faisalabad’s Iqbal stadium.
Sindh set a target of 337 runs for Islamabad. Batting first, after winning the toss, Sindh scored 336 runs for the loss of six wickets in allotted 50 over’s.
Openers Khurram Manzoor and Sami Aslam provide Sindh a big first wicket stand. Both shared 196 runs for the first wickets in 27 over’s. Khurram Manzoor remained top scorer with 123 runs knock in 90 balls. He hit 16 boundaries and three sixes in his inning.
Sami Aslam made 75 runs with the help of seven boundaries and one six. Khalid Latif hit unbeaten 62 runs off 64 balls. He hit three sixes and two boundaries in his innings.
Islamabad batsmen were facing an uphill task throughout the match as they pursued the 337-run target set by Sindh.
Sharjeel Khan was first to go. He scored just 5 runs off 5 balls.
Nasir Jamshed was the next. He had scored 14 runs off 21 balls with the help of 2 boundaries before getting out.
Iftikhar Ahmed also edged an Amir delivery to the wicket-keeper after scoring 10 runs off 7 balls and Kamran Akmal, the other opener with Sharjeel Khan, also gave in finally after scoring 25 runs off 26 balls.
Islamabad’s whole team only managed to play 39.5 overs as the whole team was sent back to the pavilion by Sindh’s bowling attack at a score of 218 runs.
