Sindh Cabinet decides replacing IGP AD Khwaja with Abdul Majeed Dasti
KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh cabinet has decided to replace Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khwaja with Abdul Majeed Dasti.
After an important meeting, the Sindh Cabinet on Wednesday decided to hand over the services of the IGP to the federal government.
A request to transfer the charge of IGP to Abdul Majeed Dasti was made in the meeting.
Earlier, the Sindh High Court (SHC) restored IG AD Khawaja, ordering Acting IG Abdul Majeed Dasti to relinquish the charge.
Justice Muneeb Akhtar remarked that apparently it seems that the SHC order has been violated. “The Supreme Court has ruled that constitutional decisions will be made by the cabinet,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that the ban imposed by federal government on providing gas connections is illegal.
He said that Sindh produces gas and its people have a primary right to get it.
