Sindh Rangers demand powers to register FIR, investigate & challan
KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh Rangers have demanded the powers to register the FIR, investigate and challan.
In a report submitted to the Supreme Court Registry, it has been stated that the Rangers arrested the accused who are acquitted due to the faulty investigation.
The report said that the prosecutors proposed by Rangers were not being appointed in important cases, like Dr Asim case.
It also demanded that Rangers should be granted powers on yearly basis instead of 120 days.
According to the report, the operation was being affected by transfers and postings on political pressure in the police department.
“As many as 6,000 accused have been arrested in targeted operation,” the report said.
Justice Azmat Saeed of the Supreme Court remarked that they should be kept away from political matters between the Rangers and the government.
