South Asia Media Conference underway in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb inaugurated the South Asia Media Conference on Saturday.
Delegates from different countries, including India, are participating in the conference.
The speakers highlighted the role of the media in the progress of the region and resolution of the problems.
A joint declaration will be issued at the end of the concluding session on Sunday.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the conference, Maryam Aurangzeb said that the topic of conference is very significant. She welcomed the guests and said that importance of media cannot be ignored. “Media’s duties are changing with time.”
She said that Pakistan gave many sacrifices in war against terror. “But now 92 percent terrorism activities have been decreased,” she added.
The minister said that false news should be finished and this problem is discussed all over the world. “Positive changes should be brought in Pakistan.”
