Those talking about Panama Papers forget names of their close relatives in leaks: Nisar
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has on Tuesday said that those talking about Panama Papers are forgetting about naming of their close relatives in the leaks and corruption stories about their families and leadership.
Talking to media after addressing the passing out parade of Islamabad Police constables and first contingent of Rapid Response Force in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s mother’s name is in the Panama Papers but he is accusing others of the wrongdoing.
The minister said that the PPP’s claim to launch a drive against corruption would tantamount to BJP announcing a campaign to safeguard rights of Muslims in India.
Commenting on sending of Sindh IG on forced leave, the interior minister said the IG was an honest officer who contributed a lot towards restoration of peace in Karachi.
He said that the US special forces had challenged the country’s sovereignty by entering Pakistan and killing a person in Abbottabad
In response to a question, the interior minister told media that our sovereignty was challenged during the PPP’s tenure when the US helicopters entered Pakistan and targeted a person (Osama Bin Laden) in Abbottabad.
Ch Nisar said that he would recommend to the Federal Cabinet to make Abbottabad Commission report public, adding that the Abbottabad incident was a grave violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty.
The minister said that despite launching of operation Zarb-e-Azb, the former Army Chief spared about 34,000 troops for internal security duties. Most of them have now been sent back and presently about 10,500 are deployed for internal security in different parts of the country.
