Terrorism graph in Pakistan declined sharply: Ch Nisar
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar has on Sunday said that neither he nor any of his close aide leaked any news report.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Sunday, he said that he called this press conference to review the four years’ performance of the interior ministry.
The former minister said that the Interior Ministry is a policy making institution, adding that implantation of law is the responsibility of the provinces.
Nisar said that Pakistan is one of few countries where terrorism graph declined sharply, adding that there is no terrorist network in Pakistan.
There are training camps of terrorists across the border and now terrorists are only targeting fot targets, he added.
Nisar said that five to six bomb blasts on daily basis were routine in 2014.
The former minister said that as many as 60,000 people crossed Torkhum Border on daily basis without documentation, now there is no such practice.
I initiated Karachi operation in 2013 with the approval of the prime minister, adding that there was no security policy until then, Nisar said.
The PML-N leader said that during his tenure, he cancelled 98 million mobile SIMs, cancelled 32,000 Passports issued to foreigners besides two thousand diplomatic Passports.
He said that there is no civil-military conflict and the military has been extending support to the Interior Ministry.
The former minister said that billions of rupees are being spent on fencing of Pak-Afghan border to check the flow of terrorists into the country.
