Threatening Speech: SC rejects Nehal Hashmi’s reply
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court has on Friday rejected the response of former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Senator Nehal Hashmi’s reply in contempt of court case regarding his threatening speech.
A three-judge bench of the top court, headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan resumed hearing of the contempt of court case against former PML-N leader Nehal Hashmi over his threatening speech against the judiciary and the members of the JIT.
The apex court will indict him in a contempt of court case on next hearing on July 10.
Earlier on Tuesday, Nehal Hashmi had submitted his reply in Supreme Court (SC) saying that his speech was treated as out of the context.
He denied all the allegations as no act of contempt was committed by the answering respondent. “I only made the speech once but the media replayed it several time,” the he said.
The senator had also demanded to register case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan, Naeemul Haq and Fawad Chaudhry for presenting his speech in a wrong way.
