DSP among three police officials shot dead in Karachi; PM orders inquiry
KARACHI (92 News) – Three police officials, including Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bin Qasim Abdul Fateh, were killed on Friday in Gulshan-e-Hadeed area of Karachi.
According to police, unidentified assailants opened fire on the car of the DSP when he was patrolling the area, killing him, his driver and security guard at the spot. The attackers managed to flee.
The bodies have been shifted to nearby hospital, while police have launched investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has ordered inquiry into the matter.
Talking to the media, Sindh Inspector General of Police Ghulam Haider Jamali said that the targeted killing is the action of an organized terrorist outfit. “The police have been deprived of a brave officer,” he said. “Investigations will be made to arrest the culprits.”
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident and directed authorities concerned to investigate.
Such incidents are common in Karachi where every now and then police officials are shot dead by unknown assailants.
