Saad Rafique’s statement is very irresponsible, says DG ISPR
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – DG ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor has said that the statement of Minister for Railways Kh Saad Rafique is very irresponsible and such statements should be avoided.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said that he would not answer to political allegations. “The entire Army follows the order of the COAS,” he maintained.
He said that it is now the time for the United States and Afghanistan to do more as the Pakistan armed forces cannot compromise on its respect. “Peace in Afghanistan is a must for Pakistan.”
Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said Indian ceasefire violations have increased in 2017, adding that India border security forces have killed 250 soldiers and 52 innocent civilians during the ceasefire violations across the Line of Control (LoC) this year. “India doesn’t want Pakistan to win war against terrorism.”
He said that Indian government had last year claimed of conducting a surgical strike inside Pakistan which later proved false, adding that New Delhi failed to suppress freedom movement in the occupied Kashmir.
The ISPR DG went on to say that there was no terrorist organization’s organizational structure working in Pakistan, adding that the existence of Haqqani Network in Pakistan has ended. Terrorists hideouts have been destroyed by the armed forces in successful operations.
Pakistan didn’t fight the war on terror for money but it is fighting the war against terror for her own interest. “US should keep an eye on India anti-Pakistan activities, adding that Washington is aware of Pakistan’s sacrifices against al-Qaeda,” he said.
Terrorism incidents have reduced in the country, adding that Pakistan’s positive image should be portrayed on social media, the ISPR DG added.
He went on to say that more than two million Afghan refugees have returned to their homeland.
The ISPR DG said: “The armed forces of Pakistan have been and continue to work with friends but they would never compromise on prestige and integrity. He said Pakistan’s security would be ensure at all costs.”
Referring to Indian claims of unilateral action against Pakistan, Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said the armed forces are fully prepared to meet any eventuality.
He said the armed forces want just support and solidarity of the nation to thwart any designs against the country.
