Timely, right decisions averted Pakistan-India war: PM
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan said on Wednesday that tensions with India had eased due to the timely and right decisions of the incumbent government.
Addressing a meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party, the prime minister mentioned that it was because of timely and correct decisions that Pakistan-India war was averted. He also took the party members into confidence over Pakistan-India escalations.
PM Imran Khan also said that the timely and right decisions eased tensions between both the countries but the war threat remained.
Action against banned organisations internal matter of country: PM
PM Khan termed that the decision to act against proscribed organisations was not made under any pressure and was an internal matter of the country. He added that a clear message had been sent to the international community that Pakistan would act in its self-interest.
He also explained that any decisions would be taken always for the interest for the country. It was also reported that Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was praised for his diplomacy during the meeting.
During the meeting, the PTI parliamentary party approved the Finance Amendment Bill 2018-19. The meeting reviewed various matters relating to the party.
PM welcomes CJP’s statement on punishment for false testimony
Earlier, PM welcomed Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Asif Saeed Khosa’s statement on punishing those who give false testimony.
“I welcome CJ’s statement on punishing those who give false testimony. ‘Journey towards truth’ is a journey towards Naya Pakistan. Nations become great because they have a higher value system. Muslim civilization’s foundation was State of Medina with truthfulness as the core value,” PM Imran tweeted.
A day earlier while hearing a case pertaining to a false testimony, CJP Khosa had remarked they are curbing false testimonies starting today and if even a part of a testimony is based on lies it will be rejected.
