Torkham border gate construction will not be stopped: Sartaj Aziz

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has on Sunday said that the construction of gate at Torkham border does not violate any agreement and it will not be stopped.

Talking to British broadcasting company on Sunday, he said that the ongoing construction of gate at Torkham border will continue.

Aziz said that the terrorism, extremism and smuggling cannot be eliminated without setting up a border management system between the two countries.

He said that the across the border movement from both sides must be done through travel documents.


Afghan Foreign Ministry spokesman said that an Afghan delegation will visit Pakistan on Monday for discussions on the issues regarding Torkham border crossing and defuse tension between at Torkham border.
