Traders take out rallies against withholding tax across country

LAHORE (92 News) – Traders took out rallies against withholding tax on bank transactions across the country.

They also chanted slogans against the government. They said that they would continue their protest till withdrawal of the tax.

In Islamabad, traders staged a demonstration in Melody Market and chanted slogans against the government.

In Peshawar, traders took to the streets and blocked Yadgar Chowk in protest against withholding tax. They also announced to support the wheeljam strike on September 9.

In Multan, the traders’ community staged a demonstration in front of Regional Tax Office.


Traders also protested against the withholding tax in Sukkur. They took out a rally from Sarafa Bazar to Ghanta Ghar Chowk.

In Quetta, traders took out a rally and termed the withholding tax ‘economic hooliganism’.

They vowed to continue their protest till withdrawal of the tax.
