Two arrested for trying to smuggle 15K gold, foreign currency

LAHORE/ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Airport Security Force (ASF) and Customs officials arrested two passengers at Lahore and Islamabad airports foiling bids to smuggling gold and foreign currency out of the country. According to details, Customs officials captured 15 kilogrammes of gold and 30 million rupees from secret pockets of a bag carrying by a passenger Abdul Basit at Allama Iqbal International Airport of Lahore. The suspect has been handed over to the Customs anti-money laundering unit for further investigation. The Airport Security Force Islamabad arrested a passenger with 50,000 US dollars and British Pounds. The law enforcement agency’s officials have arrested the Doha bound passenger and started investigation.
