Daska Bar president among two lawyers killed in clash with police; lawyers announce three-day mourning
SIALKOT (92 News) – At least two lawyers, including the president of Daska Bar Association were killed when lawyers clashed with police in Daska on Monday.
According to reports, the clash that started between the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Daska city police station and the president of the Daska bar association Rana Khalid Abbas turned violent and later fatal when shots were fired by the police officer.
As a result, Rana Khalid Abbas and Irfan Chohan advocates were killed on the spot.
At least four other people were also reported to be injured in the clash.
Later, a large number of lawyers demonstrated outside Punjab Assembly building in Lahore in protest of the killings.
The lawyers say they will boycott court proceedings across the country tomorrow to register their protest.
Meanwhile, the SHO involved in the incident has been arrested.
Lawyers organizations have announced three-day mourning.
