Two Pakistani diplomats missing in Afghanistan since Friday
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Two Pakistani diplomats have gone missing in Afghanistan’s eastern Jalalabad city since Friday (June 16).
The two missing officials – they work in Pakistan’s consulate in Afghanistan – went missing while travelling back to their home country by road.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Office, Nafees Zakaria said that Islamabad is in constant touch with Afghan authorities for safe recovery of two officials.
Pakistani authorities in Kabul have formally informed the Afghan authorities about the matter and sought their help in their safe recovery.
Meanwhile, Foreign Office spokesman Nafees Zakaria said that Pakistan has urged the Afghan government to ensure early recovery of the officials of its Jalalabad Consulate General who went missing while coming to their country on Friday.
He said the Afghan authorities have informed that three distinct investigating groups have been constituted to ensure safe recovery of the officials.
