Two universities named after MQM founder renamed

KARACHI (92 News) – The two universities, being constructed in Hyderabad and Karachi, earlier named after Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain have been renamed.

 

The university in Karachi has been renamed to Abdul Sattar University while the university in Hyderabad has now been named as Fatima Jinnah University.

 

The universities were renamed through a unanimously passed an amendment bill in Sindh Assembly on Monday.


The bill was moved by Pakistan People’s Party leader Nisar Ahmed Khuhro.

 

The MQM members did not oppose the bill.
