UK Army Chief Gen Nicholas Carter calls on COAS Gen Qamar Bajwa

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Chief of General Staff (CGS) UK Army General Sir Nicholas Patrick Carter, who is on a two-day official visit to Pakistan, called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ on Friday.

Matters of mutual interest, including strengthening of bilateral security and defence cooperation between the two Armies, were discussed during the meeting.

The visiting dignitary acknowledged Pakistan Army’s achievements in fight against terrorism and continued efforts for peace and stability in the region.

He said that the UK greatly appreciates Pakistan’s sacrifices in this regard.

CGS UK Army laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented the guard of honour to the visiting dignitary.

Later, the visiting dignitary will address participants of National Security and War Course.

Meanwhile, Nawaf Saeed Al-Maliki, Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, also met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ.

Issues of bilateral relations including defence and training cooperation remained focus of the discussion.
