UNSC to discuss Occupied Kashmir situation today
NEW YORK (92 News) – The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will meet today to discuss the alarming human rights situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK).
The meeting will review the situation arising after the illegal steps taken by the Indian government. The meeting has been scheduled for the second time in less than six months on the situation of IOK.
During the meeting, the UN Military Observer Group is likely to brief the members of the Security Council on the rapidly deteriorating situation along the Line of Control.
The council had last discussed the Kashmir dispute in August, 2019.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has left for United States on Wednesday. He will meet the UN secretary general to stress the need for resolving the Kashmir dispute and peace in the Middle East.
