US drone strike leaves 15 ISIS militants dead in Afghanistan

NANGARHAR (Web Desk) – At least 15 militants affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were killed in the US drone strike in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

According to Afghan media reports, the US forces based in Afghanistan carried out airstrike in Haska Mina district on Saturday. The airstrike left at least fifteen militants dead but no casualties were inflicted on the local residents.

In the meantime, at least three militants were killed during a clash between the Afghan forces and the Taliban insurgents in Wata Pur district of Kunar province.

The anti-government armed militant groups including Taliban and ISIS militants have not commented regarding the report so far. This comes as counter-terrorism operations are underway against the Taliban, ISIS, and other militant groups in different provinces of the country.

The US forces based in Afghanistan also conduct regular airstrikes to suppress the anti-government armed militants who are attempting to expand their insurgency and terrorist related activities.
