US expresses concern over violence in IHK: Elizabeth Trudeau

WASHINGTON (92 News) – US State Department Spokesperson Elizabeth Trudeau has on Tuesday said that the United States expressed concern over violence in Indian-held Kashmir.

Addressing the news briefing in Washington on Tuesday, she said that the US supports peaceful resolution of all outstanding disputes between India and Pakistan.

The spokesman said that India-Pakistan will have to jointly resolve Kashmir dispute. She said “We’re aware of the clashes. We remain concerned about the violence and we encourage to all sides to make efforts for finding a peaceful resolution.”

“Our position on Kashmir has not changed. We support any and all positive steps that India and Pakistan can take to forge closer relations,” State Department Spokesperson Elizabeth Trudeau added.
