Violations of human rights being committed at state level in IOK, says PM Nawaz Sharif
NEW YORK (92 News) – US Secretary of State John Kerry called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday.
The prime minister informed the US Secretary of State about the steps taken to eliminate terrorism.
“The Operation Zarb-e-Azb has broken the backbone of terrorists,” he maintained. “We have destroyed the structure of terrorists. However, the Pak-US partnership is very important for regional peace and stability.”
Nawaz Sharif said that violations of human rights are being committed at the state level in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.
He said that 107 people have been martyred and hundreds of others injured in the current spate of violence.
The PM said that the National Action Plan is being implemented in letter and spirit. “We hope that the US will play its role for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute,” he said, adding that the Indian forces were committing the worst barbarism in Occupied Kashmir.
US Secretary of State John Kerry lauded the efforts of Pak Army in the war against terrorism and extremism.
He said that peace and stability is in the mutual interest of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
