Vice admiral meets foreign delegates amid IDEAS 2018

KARACHI (92 News) – During the 3rd day of ongoing International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2018, various foreign dignitaries called on Vice Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Kaleem Shaukat. The visiting dignitaries include Commandant of the East Troops for Counter Terrorism Egypt Major General Yahya Taha Ahmed Ali El Hamily, Deputy Naval Commander Kuwait Major General (N) Idrees Abdul Latif, Director Hellenic (Greece) Navy General Staff Rear Admiral Aristeidis Al Exopoulos, Flag Officer Logistics Nigerian Navy Rear Admiral UB Onyia and Commander Naval Forces Western Mindano Philippines Rear Admiral Rene V Medina. During the meetings various avenues to establish/ enhance defence collaboration, sharing of training protocols, joint venture for development of naval platforms & equipment and reciprocal mutual visits were discussed. Vice Admiral Kaleem Shaukat also briefed the dignitaries regarding indigenized development of naval platform at Pakistan and potential of maritime sector. The same factor was also highlighted earlier by Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi during Maritime Conference, held under the auspices of Pakistan Navy. “We are sitting at the doorstep of a diamond mine, and Pakistan Navy’s efforts to enhance awareness in maritime sector are commendable,” the minister stated. Besides various events during the proceedings of IDEAS 2018, the hallmark of the 3rd day remained the mega display of professional acumen by Tri-Services “Karachi Show” held at Nishan-e-Pakistan, Sea view. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah graced the occasion as Chief Guest while Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar also graced the ceremony with his presence. Pakistan Navy demonstrates combat demo at Tri Services “Karachi Show” During the show Pakistan Navy Aviation units, Pak Marines and Special Forces demonstrated special skills and capabilities including Tri Services Counter Terrorism Demo, Fly Past, Tri Services Static and Free Fall Para Jumps, Tri Services Beach Assault and Rifle Drill by Pak Marines. Captain Imran Rana PN, Commander SSG(Navy) led Tri Services Free Fall Para Jump display and landed amidst chanting crowds present at the venue.   Speaking on the occasion, Murad Ali Shah highlighted that today’s show amply displays the resolve and preparedness of armed forces of Pakistan for contributing peace in the region. A large number of civil and military foreign and national dignitaries, families, and war veterans were also present on the occasion.
