Waseem Akhtar’s petition seeking to appear before ECP to submit nomination papers rejected
KARACHI (92 News) – The anti-terrorism court (ATC) has on Friday rejected the petition of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Waseem Akhtar seeking permission to submit nomination papers for Karachi’s mayorship.
Waseem Akhtar had filed a petition requesting the court allow him to leave the prison to submit nomination papers for Karachi’s mayorship
The court rejected his request stating that the court cannot allow any accused to go to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the ECP can take decision in this regard.
The MQM leader is in jail in the cases related to providing treatment to the terrorists, May 12 Tragedy and the speeches of party chief.
