We will take final decision on Pakistan’s participation in World T20, says PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan
LAHORE (92 News) – Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shahryar Khan said that he had gone to India to meet the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials on their invitation and he was assured of situation under control.
Addressing a press conference in Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Shahryar Khan said that he had received a written invitation from BCCI and the Indian Board Secretary Anurag Thakar assured him of removing all barriers.
He said that the Memorandums of Understandings (MoUs) was signed by the two countries under which the series will be played.
“The Indian government and its board have been hijacked by a very small minority but the majority wants a series with Pakistan. But we will not run after India board,” he added.
Khan said the security situation in India, which forced the International Cricket Council (ICC) to withdraw Aleem Dar from the India-South Africa series, was a cause for great concern and that Pakistan government would now assess things before clearing the team’s path to the World T20. “We will take a final decision on Pakistan’s participation in World T20. The Pakistan government will also assess the security situation in India before we decide our future course of action,” he added.
