Weapons recovered from Azizabad of war nature: Sindh IG AD Khawaja

KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh IG AD Khawaja while talking to 92 News said that weapons recovered from Azizabad area of Karchi were hid last year in house no. 824.

The owner of the house shifted abroad two years ago over serious threats by the leader of a political party, he said.

The newspapers in which the arms were concealed are of 2015. They were not recovered from a water tank, he said, there was an arms depot in the basement. The house is old while the tank is recently built which is above ground level, he said.

“The arms are of war nature. They were not going to be used for target killings,” he said.

The weapons seized from Azizabad are a big action of police in the history of Pakistan, the Sindh IG added.

The law enforcement agencies on Wednesday foiled a terror plot in Karachi by recovering huge cache of weapons and explosive material during a raid in Azizabad area.


As per details, police carried out an intelligence-based raid at an abandoned house in Azizabad area near Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) headquarters Nine-Zero.

The seized weapons included anti-aircraft guns, anti-tank mine, Kalashnikov, 9mm, LMG, SMGs and other explosives. The weapons were concealed in the water tank of the house.

The weapons were likely to be used for terrorism in the city.
