We do not want assistance in exchange for our dignity: DG ISPR
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – DG ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said that the withholding of the US assistance to Pakistan will damage the efforts for peace.
In an interview with Voice of America (VoA) on Friday, he said that Pakistan has never fought the war for money and always played its role in efforts for peace. “We do not want assistance in exchange of our dignity. The Pak Army is a powerful army even without the US assistance.”
The DG ISPR said that the region will destabilize due to suspicion on Pakistan. “There is no safe haven for terrorists in Pakistan,” he added.
He said that Pak Army had also carried out activities against the Haqqani network. “Pakistan will continue its sincere efforts for peace and its interest,” he declared.
