Women among seven killed in Mian Channu over property dispute
MIAN CHANNU (92 News) – At least seven people including four of a family were killed while two others sustained injuries in an armed clash between two groups over a property dispute in Talamba on Sunday.
As per details, the Rajpoot and Sukhera casts had a long standing dispute over some property in Mian Channu’s Talamba area.
The clash today erupted after which both groups opened firing, killing seven people including four brothers and sister of a family namely, Abdul Majeed, Abdul Kareem their sisters Abida Bibi, Khalida Bibi, their uncle Zulfiqar s/o Ali Muhammad Burewala, their cousin Maqbool s/o Yaqoob, while Rajpoot family’s Muhammad Rafiq were killed on spot and others injures.
The rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the dead and injured to nearby hospital, while panic gripped the area.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and directed the authorities to submit report.
Talking to media, District Police Officer (DPO) Khanewal said that six people were arrested in this case while police also recovered weapons.
