World must respect Pakistan for its role in war on terror: Jeremy Corbyn

LONDON (92 News) – British Labour Party chief and opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn has on Friday said that the world must respect Pakistan for its leading role in war against terror.

In his interview with BBC Urdu, he said that eliminating menace of terrorism is not Pakistan’s responsibility only but every other country in the world should play its role in war on terror.

Answering a questing regarding US President Donald Trump’s statement saying Pakistan provides safe haven to terror groups, Corbyn said that Pakistan is a country which must be treated with respect and all countries should avoid criticizing it.

Responding to another question regarding Pakistan’s role in eliminating terrorism, the Labour Party chief said that all countries will have to make all-out efforts in rooting out menace of extremism, and this applies to everyone.

He also termed the US President’s decision to deploy more troops in Afghanistan as continuation of its failed policies. “I will not endorse the decision, the solution to Afghanistan is political dialogue,” he said.
