Young doctors protest against privatization of hospitals across Punjab
LAHORE (92 News) – Young doctors took to streets and blocked roads in protest against the proposed privatization of different hospitals in Punjab.
In Lahore, young doctors blocked Canal Road, Mall Road, Ferozepur Road and Jail Road and chanted slogans against the government.
They said that they would not accept the privatization of hospitals at any cost. They said that the government was forcing them to come on roads again and again.
“The promotion issue of young doctors is not being resolved. 1,100 doctors are working without salaries,” they said.
In Faisalabad, young doctors staged a demonstration outside Allied Hospital against the privatization of hospitals and a delay in increasing their salaries.
In Multan, doctors took out a rally from Nishtar Hospital against the government for privatizing hospitals and not giving them a service structure.
They said that they would protest countrywide if their demands were not accepted.
